Delaying start date on SMS for Defined CoS

Hi all, I'm looking for advice on the following situation.
Looking to sponsor skilled worker overseas
Have applied for, and been granted, a Defined CoS
The trouble is, the work start date on the CoS is 1 March and in practice it will be more like 1 April (delays getting criminal record check paperwork required)
So the question is:
- do we have to 'cancel and re-apply' for the Defined CoS we need, then assign it; or
- can we go ahead and assign now, but somehow add a note that in practice start date will be a few weeks from now?

No need to reapply. You can add a sponsor note to change the start date when you assign the CoS.
