Queries on Skilled Worked Visa Application

Hi All,

Please help...

I have received my CoS 2 days back and my employer listed "01 April 2022" as my start date on the CoS.
However, I am waiting for the TB Test and other few paper work to be completed before applying for my visa. So it seems difficult to travel before the COS start date. But I am trying to expedite the process.

Could you please help me clarifying my queries listed below?

1. Should I inform the sponsor to modify the COS start date now? and get the new COS before applying for the visa.
Will it adversely affect the sponsorship?

2. If I travel after the COS start date, will it cause any problem for the job or visa?

3. If visa is issued on a date after the COS start date, will it cause any problem?

4. Is COS Start date is my joining date? Can an employer provide a different joining date after the

5. How many days maximum the COS start date can be pushed forward? or
How many days maximum the actual start date can be pushed forward from the COS start date?

5. Assuming your CoS was issued 4 Mar. The latest date you can submit the application using it before expiry is 4 June. You can apply for the visa at earliest 3 months before the start date. So theoretically, the start date can be postponed up to 4 Sept without needing to reapply a CoS.

One last question, while I was reading through different websites I saw the below sentence.

"If the worker’s start date is delayed by more than 28 days, you must stop sponsoring them and inform the Home Office."

Could you help me understand what does this mean? I got confused and thought the COS start date can only be pushed forward to a maximum of 28 days.
