UKRAINE or other REFUGEES - Any Effect On All Other Visa Applications ?

Post by paulanthony » Thu Mar 10, 2022 11:05 am

Hi All. First let me say how much i SUPPORT the welcoming of Ukrainian refugees into the UK. 100%. Second, does anyone have an informed view on whether the huge increase in urgent work this means for the Home Office, will slow down the processing of all other types of application ? Or have the Home Office taken on extra staff members to cope with this spike in new applications for entry and residence by Ukrainians fleeing the war ?

We have no more insight than you into how the Home Office UKVI organises, or will organise, all the additional demands at present, unless government ministers divulge further details.

Which grapevine? You do know that none of us work for the Home Office, don't you?

All of us have either been on the immigration journey or have helped family members on an immigration journey. Some of the people on these forums may have some legal knowledge, some of us (like me) can google information reasonably well.

But you can't expect us to know what is happening inside the Home Office.

We have the same level of knowledge of what is developing/going on in the Home Office as any other member of the public.

Anyway, also see this thread on "UKVI is prioritising Ukraine Family Scheme applications"
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.
