Skilled Worker Visa

Post by chipaz » Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:29 pm

In 2016 I was on a Student Visa, finished my course early than the date on the Visa (Oct 2016). I did not not receive my curtailment letter and only got to know that my visa had been curtailed when I got a call from CAPITA on behalf of the HO. Received the Call on July 2, So I made plan to leave the UK and was only able to leave 62 days after the call.

I have now been offered a job in the UK and I have to apply for a work visa wanted to know if this won't affect my Visa Application

Did you leave before the date they told you on the call?

They gave me a call 2 days after I was supposed, I think the call was to check if I left. During the call I explained to them that no curtailment letter was received.

Sorry about that let me rephrase,

I Received a call because I was supposed to have left already( 2 days earlier) but because I had not received a notification of curtailment/ curtailment letter, I had no idea that it had been curtailed only knew when they called.

Did they tell you on the 1st call you had to leave by xx/xx?

They did not specify a date.
All they said was I had 28 days to switch to another category or make plans to leave as my leave had been curtailed.

You might be an overstayer back then. The curtailment letter could have been lost in post or sent to wrong address. I don't think this will affect your application considering it was years ago and you voluntarily left, but make sure you declare and explain the situation on the application form. There might be some delay due to this.
