ICT Long term VISA to PBS Skilled worker VISA

Hi All,
I am on ICT LT Visa and my CoS is getting expired on 27th May 2022. Since I have been here for 5 years and ICT visa holders cannot work after 5 years and have to go outside UK for cooling off period, I have been asked too by my company to go back. I have another job offer in hand who is providing me sponsorship but they are saying process will take 2-3 months.
Keeping in mind that I have only 1 month of Certificate of Sponsorship(CoS) left, what should be my best option. Should I resign and wait for VISA maybe without Salary for few months (Although not sure how long can I stay after VISA expiry) as my current employer cannot ask me to work in UK after 27th May or should I go back to India?

There is no cooling off period.

You must apply for a new visa before your current visa expires. While an application is pending, your existing visa conditions continue.

There is no requirement to leave the UK if you have and are applying to switch visa categories.

Thanks for the reply. I have received my offer yesterday and I don't know if the new employer would be able to apply for the new VISA before 27th May. They have advised me that it will take 2-3 months to get the new VISA. I understand if my application for VISA is submitted online I can stay in the country until a decision is made. However, my only concern is to get the VISA applied before 27th May

Thanks for the reply. I have received my offer yesterday and I don't know if the new employer would be able to apply for the new VISA before 27th May. They have advised me that it will take 2-3 months to get the new VISA. I understand if my application for VISA is submitted online I can stay in the country until a decision is made.
