Youth Mobility to Fiance or Spouse?

Post by rose3 » Mon May 02, 2022 11:12 pm

If you're already in the UK on a Youth Mobility Visa, is it better to apply for a Fiance Visa or to get married first in the UK and then apply for a Spouse Visa? Many thanks

You cannot apply for a 6 month fiance visa while in the UK. It is an application that has to be made from your home country.

Easier to get married, assuming you have sufficient time on the tier 5 visa and meet all the spouse visa requirements to apply to switch to a spouse visa

I was thinking there might be some negativity on the part of the Home Office about getting married in the UK on a youth mobility visa. I thought it was important to show that you were here for the purpose of the visa you had applied for.
