Serving Notice Period But did not get a new Job yet

Post by Gurpin » Thu May 12, 2022 1:02 pm

Hello Admin /Moderators and Group members

I am new to this group and really need your advice
I am On Tier2 ICT and have resigned from my job due to workload as Its effecting on my health. Currently, I am serving a notice period of 2 weeks, however, I did not find any job yet. My last working day is 20 May.

I am bit worried now. Could you please help me on the queries below if possible

How many days I can legally stay in UK after my last working to find a Job. My Visa is valid till September, 2020?
Do I need to hire an immigration lawyer that can help me to notify Home office (UKVI) to provide some days to find a job after my last working day

Kindly provide your valuable suggestions. I would be really grateful

You don't have to notify the HO, they will contact you but this may take some time. You'll eventually get a letter curtailing your leave to 60 days from the date of that letter or to the expiry date of your current visa whichever sooner. Make sure the HO have your current address.

Your employer notifies HO not you. You can stay until HO curtails/cancels your visa. You will not be permitted to do any work though for any other employer until you get a new visa.
