Spouse Visa Extension or ILR - Urgent

Hi,

On behalf of a friend.

He is going to complete his years on the Spouse visa next month. If he doesn't pass the Life in the UK test, then should he just apply for another extension or ILR and explain the test in the cover letter.

Any help would be really appreciated.

If he doesn't pass the Life in the UK test your friend will have to submit a FLR(FP) application. This will put him on a new 10 year path to settlement (ILR)

Has he passed the B1 English test?

Yes.

ILR and explain the test in the cover letter.

LIUK and B1 English test are mandatory for ILR. If he doesn't do the test, ILR will be refused.

Well, my friend has failed his LITUK test and now I think the only option available is the extension.

I tried everything but he is just not ready for it. He has his English test this Sunday and then we ll see.

Then he should start putting the documents for another FLR together. This would give a more time to start practising again. It's not the easiest of exams, and it's not the hardest either.
He should also dedicate an hour or 2 daily to the online test.
