Advice on Finance section of child family visa application and difference in names of documents

Post by MUYAMAN » Sat Jun 04, 2022 10:27 am

Hi All,

I have two topics I would very much like member's kind advice and thoughts

Background;
I am British Citizen (by decent), and I have applied for my wife, and two children family visas. All have Philippines nationality but, the children were born in Hong Kong with right of residency and my wife also has permanent residency after living there for 7 years.

I applied for my wife and children's visa at the following URL

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... -selection

Child applicant finance details section (5)

When I was applying for family visas for my children (after I had finished my wife as main applicant), I came across something at the finance section which surprised me.
Under this finance section of the online application, it asked for my wife's financial details and not mine as the sponsor. (Please do note, I have linked my wife's application reference number as well on my children's applications).

But I was wondering, is this normal for the linked children's application to include details of the main applicant (in this case the mother)'s financial details and not the sponsor?
Have I done something wrong or is this normal? Any thoughts from those who have gone through the family visa with children as co applicants, please kindly let me know. Thank you

Birth Certificate and Passport
My children were born in Hong Kong, and have right of residency but, they also have a Philippines passport/nationality. I only noticed after application that one of my child's birth certificate (from Hong Kong) does not include my child's maiden name but the passport does? I wonder if this could be an issue (as I have already submitted the application)? Or could I explain this away in the covering letter before the biometric appointment? (as it too late to rectify the birth certificate)

Thank you all for your time, thoughts and advice in advance.

From the guidance
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... rement.pdf

Where the applicant is a child, references to ‘applicant’ should be read as
appropriate to refer to the applicant’s parent, and references to ‘partner’ should be
read as appropriate to refer to the applicant’s parent’s partner.

what do you mean by the "child's maiden name"?

Hi Manci and thank you, I mean, middle name. Ie for example Middle in "John Middle Smith"

The child's passport has "John Middle" as given names and surname as "Smith", however the birth certificate has only "John" as given name and "Smith" as Surname :(

I will just state that this is case in cover letter as I have no explanation but both Hong Kong and Philippines document issuing authorities did not raise a flag. :(

As the application has gone through, there isn't enough time to change birth certificates to reflect new name :(
