ILR LR Eligibility

Post by rfz281191 » Mon Jul 04, 2022 4:32 pm

Hi Team,

I am seeking guidance for ILR application under long residence (10-year route).
Here are the relevant dates:

First UK arrival - 11th Sep 2012
Current visa expiry - 31st Jul 2022

I know my 10 years would complete on 11th Sep 2022, and I can apply 28 days before, so 15th Aug 2022.
But my current visa expires before this (on 31st Jul 2022).
I do have the option to apply for a graduate visa btw.
Is there a better alternative?

I know under the 5-year ILR route, the biometrics date is counted and not the application date, but I could not find any similar case for 10-year route.

Please advise.

Refer to the guidance, p14
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... gov-uk.pdf

Applications are only considered after the biometric appointment.

Apply before your visa expires but delay the biometric appointment so that it falls in the 28 day period.

Apply before visa expiry and book your appointment after 15 August. Section 3C will cover the shortfall in the qualifying period.
