Importance of a Sponsorship letter for visit visa

I above a couple of questions regarding sponsorship application that I hope someone can clarify.


1. Is sponsorship letter for a visit visa really necessary? A family member wants to visit UK for a week and they have more than enough in their bank account (way more than me) and assets to make sure they can fund their stay and prove their ties back to home. Their agent though keeps pushing for a Sponsorship letter for me, would that even help?

2. Does the sponsorship letter have to be stamped by a lawyer or can I copy one of the many available on Google? What will it need? My payslips and proof of funds? Even though he can easily pay for their expenses when visiting UK.

3. I live with my parent(who doesn't earn), do I get them to sign the rent/ownership form on the sponsorship and sign the sponsorship myself?

If you have an utility bill in your name, that would show that you live there. The arrangements with your parents are personal to you. They're only visiting, not moving in!

The alternative to getting a sponsorship letter is for your family member to book an hotel. If you say you're staying with someone, then they need to know the status of the person you're leaving with, what address they're at and what they do for a living.

If hotel is booked then there may be no need for sponsorship letter especially since you seem to say they have sufficient to cover all expenses for the visit. The option of not indicating sponsorship may even make the application go smooth. Let not agent c
