family route extension

Post by mattbrooke » Tue Jul 05, 2022 10:12 pm

Hey there,

Its time for me to renew my visa that runs out on the 13.08.2022. I am on the family route with my current visa(spouse). My last solicitor that dealed with us to sort out my last visa has changed jobs so i thought i would try do this one without a solicitor as it should be a bit easier.

Originally last time she said it was a 5 year route. So should i be applying to extend my current family(spouse visa)? will this give me another 30 months? also i started filling it out but when it asked for the reason why i was extending it, there wasn't any clear answers for me to select.

Also we got married a few months ago so will that affect anything?

One last thing, seeing im from NZ, we were wanting to go back over next year for a month or so. will that affect my continuous 5 years in the uk?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. Extend. What options for reasons to extend did they give?

Marriage with the same unmarried partner shouldn’t affect continuous residence requirements for ILR.

A month’s holiday is okay.

Hey Vinny.

Thank you very much for your reply. Much appreciated!

In regards to the questions as to whats my reason for the extension, the reasons are as following-

-First extension as a partner (following an initial period of entry as a partner, or as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner of a settled person)

-Additional extension as a partner

-First application as a partner from within the UK (for example, you are currently in the UK on another type of visa or permission to stay)

-You delayed your travel to the UK by more than 3 months after the issue of a visa and have not yet completed the required amount of time on a partner visa (not including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)

-You require more time to meet the Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirements to apply for settlement

-You were granted entry as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner, but have not yet married or entered into a civil partnership

-You are applying for any other reason

nothing really clear enough for me to answer. apart from answering for another reason

Also do you know if i can access my old application somehow? just want to double check all my older dates match. thanks so much!

spouse visa extension

Post by mattbrooke » Mon Jul 18, 2022 9:24 pm

Hey everybody.

Currently getting my visa extension ready that expires next month.

Long story short, i'm a self employed joiner that has subcontracted to a building firm for nearly 2 years under the CIS scheme. When doing the financial requirement section of the form, it has asked for the following-

-If not required to produce annual audited accounts, unaudited accounts for the last full financial year and an accountant's certificate of confirmation, from an accountant who is a member of a UK Recognised Supervisory Body (as defined in the Companies Act 2006) or is a member of the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA).

As a subcontractor under the CIS scheme, i don't have any accounts for this as my tax gets deducted every week and i submit a tax return for my over payed tax (which an Accountant does).

Has anyone got any experience with this? or something similar? I don't want to be denied because i cant provide anything for that.

Thanks in Advance!
