Lost BRP before my Tier 2 UKVCAS appointment

I lost my Tier 2 BRP card right before my further Tier 2 UKVCAS appointment.

I am currently in the UK, may I check how I should proceed?

No need to apply for a new BRP. Report as lost/stolen. Wait for the new BRP

Because it is less than 3 months before the expiry of my BRP card and there is no current guidance on reporting it to my lost BRP card to the police. As the website says I should just apply for a new one, should I still need to report to home office?

I am in the midst of applying for another tier 2 visa, and the UKVCAS appointment is for checking my biometrics details. Will UKVCAS need my original TIer 2 Visa?
