reimbursement of fees - child dependent visa

Post by Hampshire » Wed Sep 14, 2022 7:03 am

I am posting on behalf of my friend.

He has been working in the UK from March 2020 on Tier 2 General visa which will be renewed on 15th March 2023. His daughter was born in India and they are apply for child dependent visa from India. Visa application form says that it is minimum 3 year period and the fees works to GBP 3,600 (approx), even though he wants to apply for visa till March 2023 (6 month only).

Question:

1) Will Home office grant the dependent visa for the remaining 6 month period or for 3 years?
2) When I apply for renewal for my child as well in MArch 2023, will they reimburse the fees
for the overlapping period of 30 months?

I would be grateful if you could provide some links for the reimbursement process.

The fees are based on the COS length. But Visa will only valid till his current expiry date.

Visa fees are not refunded.

Your friend is probably using the wrong form
https://apply-to-visit-or-stay-in-the-u ... anner=true

The child's visa will have the same expiry date as your friend's current visa (March 2023)
