FLR M financial requirement questions

Post by Questioningfella » Wed Oct 12, 2022 1:08 pm

Hello all,

Just got some brief questions re financial requirement for the FLR M type visa - any help would be great.

1. My wife is applying for the FLR M visa, extending after her initial 2.5yrs in the the UK - in regards to the financial requirement, I earn above the threshold, but have only been in my current role for 5 months - previously I was in another role earlier this year also earning above the threshold for about 4 months, and prior to that another role earning above the threshold going back for over a year to 2021.

My wife has is also employed currently, but her earnings are below the threshold and are variable month to month - she has been in that current job for over nine months.

Should I just put my earnings information only (category B I think), or also include the earnings info for my wife as well? To give a full picture of our household earnings etc, or will that not be necessary/beneficial?

2. If I do include my work info, and work info for my wife, as my earnings are under category B, will she also need to provide financial information going back twelve months rather than six, even though she has been in the job more than half a year? (I saw info re not mixing category A and B, so didn't know if her work info should be included to a category B level, or not included at all).

3. Finally, as my wife's work salary changes from month to month, if including her work info is worthwhile for the application, would I calculate the total for annual gross salary as 6 months salary amount, divided by six, then times twelve, or 9 months salary amount, divided by nine (her current number of months worked so far) then times twelve?

Any advice re the above questions much appreciated - many thanks to all at this great site.

To avoid confusion, use your income and work info only, its sufficient.

Many thanks for the response to that, it is much appreciated.

Just one other general question - for bank statements showing employment income, will bank statements in PDF format downloaded directly from online banking from my bank account be sufficient? I don't need to get them printed out and stamped at a bank branch anymore, do I? I have heard contradictory advice on this point (including from the UKVI advice helpline today on separate calls!). Any help much appreciated to clarify, thanks
