Question about General Tier 1 (HSMP)

Question about General Tier 1 (HSMP)?
I am student dependent and know the fact that cannot switch over to general tier 1 from inside the UK. (have to go back to my home country to apply).
My wife (currently student visa) is from another country (Non E.U) and i am thinking to apply her as my dependent (if I get the General tier 1).My question are
1. We will go to my home land with her student visa and mine dependent.Will it affect our current status if we will be rejected?
2. Assuming that I will get the general Tier 1,to get her under my dependent visa, can we apply from inside the UK while she is here or she has to go back to her home land.OR
3. I can apply her dependency application (from my home land)?

Sorry I am very confused and once I have done mistake getting into depandency ladder now want to know your professional/experimental views this time.

Please advise.

1. A refusal (Tier 1) should not affect your current visa (student) status. 2. One cannot make an application to switch to dependent status from within UK.
3. If your wife has the relevant visa to live in your home country (e.g. - residence permit), then she can make a dependent application from your home country.
