URGENT: Forgot to return BRP

Hi,

I got my naturalisation certificate in mid October. I just realised that I should have returned my ILR.

I will send this back tomorrow. Secondly, should I add a covering letter saying that "sorry I forgot to send it, please find my BRP (ILR)"

Alternatively, should I simply return it without mentioning the error on my part of forgetting?

Just return it - I have yet to see anyone reporting being fined for not returning the card.
