British Citizenship application after ILR

Hi,

My wife has gotten her British citizenship (via the 5 year route to ILR with 12 months wait) back in May 2022 while I have gotten my ILR status back in September 2022. I have researched before that I would also need to wait 12 months after receiving the ILR status before I can apply for citizenship but one of my colleagues was telling me that since I am married to a British citizenship, I could apply immediately. I have tried searching but am a bit confused with this information so hoping someone would be able to shed some light with this matter. Many thanks!

Yes, a spouse of a British citizen can apply as soon as they get ILR. It is well documented on the ukvi website that you don't need to wait 12 months, provided you meet all the requirements to apply based on 3 years residence.
