BNO visa and definition of working conditions

Post by Kai1999 » Sat Feb 04, 2023 9:18 am

I am a holder of a BNO visa and I am interested in teaching fitness at a fitness center.
As I know BNO visa holders working right is excluding employment as a professional sportsperson or sports coach.
I just want to teaching some normal sport lovers and they are not professional.
I would like to know will this falls within the acceptable working conditions for BNO visa holders.
Thank you

Read the definition of a professional sportsperson in the immigration rules, clause 6.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... troduction
There are some ambiguities in the definition, as pointed out by others (e.g. Free Movement).

However, on the basis that fitness training is not a sport IMO working as a fitness training instructor doesn't fall under the prohibition stated in your visa conditions.

You should be careful though, for example if a swimming club trains in the pool at the fitness centre where you are working it would be unwise for you to act as their coach.

Your prospective employer will also have a view, and will check with the Home Office, whether you have the right to work in the post you are applying for.
