RE:HSMP APPLICATION

Post by babavee » Sat Nov 29, 2008 5:46 am

I did apply for an HSMP and my apllication was rejected based on English Language requirement.

The following were documents i submitted:

1. My HND Certificate.

2. My MBA(Marketing) Certificate with Letter from school indication English as the administered language, upon which i scored 35 points, 45 points from Previous earnings .

The caseworker is of the opinion that since i only submitted a letter stating English from my masters programme, i do not qualify.

The HND programme in my country(Nigeria) runs for 4 Years with a 1 year Industrial experience in between making a total of 5 Years and the mode of learning : reading, writing, expression etc is ENGLISG LANGUAGE.

My question is should i call for a review and if yes, what would be the basis for it as i understand that no aditional evidence would be accepted and the time this takes is usually longer than expected OR SUBMIT A FRESH APPLICATION ATTACHING A LETTER OF THE ENGLISG LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT FROM MY INSTITUTION.

Please treat as urgent as the 28 day ultimatum will soon elapse.

Thanks

Hi Babevee,

HND is not accepted as equivalent to UK Bachelor's degree. And as a result letter from Uni for Master's is not accpted because it is believed that the length of the postgraduate course using English as a medium of tutoring is less than the length of time used in the Degree level. This is clearly stated in the guidance note for Tier1 Application. What you can do is to read this link and find any English language Test which you either have or write and pass : http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... htests.pdf

I am afraid you may have to reapply after meeting these English Language criteria.

I hope this helps.

Cheers.
