Query on Spouse Visa applied from South America

Post by Deanjpm » Tue Feb 14, 2023 8:12 pm

Hello all, I am looking to get a confirmation on something that I might have got wrong when submitting my wife’s paperwork for a spouse visa from outside the UK. Under financials I included both employment and Savings. I earn a gross salary in six figures, and I also included my savings in excess of 70K held for 6 months in a savings account. I included the bank statements for my savings account for 6 months, 6 months pay slips, letter from employer confirming my perm FT employment for the last six months along with salary. I also included my 6 months current account bank statements to ensure the HO can check the salary being paid into my account. So I went over the top. Now my question is will this in any way be detrimental to the application.

I had uploaded all documents via VFS Global but have had a request to supply the marriage certificate, my wife’s English test results and the decree absolute for me, all of which was uploaded. But they didn’t ask or mention anything on the financials. But one can never be sure.

My wife and I are married for 6 years, we moved out from Asia after spending 6 years there and my daughter is British and about 5 years old. I moved to London to get the job sorted and arrange for the accommodation and then have applied with a heap of information including photos over the last 6 years my two trips to South America last year for a month in total and proof of cohabitation for 6 years we stayed apart for the last one year due to COVID and us moving out of Asia.

Can you please confirm if the financial bit won’t go against us in this case?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Apologies forgot to add I submitted my payslips from previous employment as well which was in asia for the past 7 months again after FX conversion the amount is close to what I make now, I also attached the employment letter, bank statements etc. but there was a break of 1.5 months in continuity since i was relocating to the UK, so I added my savings as a buffer.

Just when. You thought things couldn’t be more complicated…

IMHO, shouldn't be detrimental to the application. You have only complicated the work of ECO in identifying what way you used in meeting financial requirements.
Using your savings of at least £62,500 and declaring source of the income would tide you over on the financial requirements.

Thank you, that’s some relief. I did send my payslips for March of each year since 2018-2022 specifically showing the bonus payout, I work for a bank and the bonus payout is the chunky amount I showed as savings. I mentioned this in the letter of declaration as well. So the source of funds is legitimate since it was moved to London via a bank transfer.
