Spouse Visa: Submitted My Tax Return For 21-22, Can they ask for most recent year tax return (2022-23)

Post by mubala » Wed Feb 22, 2023 12:35 pm

I am self-employed and submitted my tax return for 21-22 and my next tax return is due April for 22-23.
I am going to apply for a spouse visa in a few days but I am worried that they might say this tax return is from April 2022 and I should wait for a most recent tax return, Or can raise the issuing for tax return being a almost year old. What should I attach to prove my current self employment? I can attach 6 months' bank, is there anything else I should do or I shouldn't provide anything unless they ask themself?

This years tax year has not ended yet, you should be fine as long as you've gone according to the rules.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

The year has not yet ended so use the tax return for the year ended/the latest one you have. HO know the rule and are not out to just refuse applications without reason (most of the time)

Other residents at this property Shared accommodation [Parents Name]

Post by mubala » Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:03 pm

I am in the process of obtaining a tenancy agreement from my landlord for a shared accommodation, which is a 5-bedroom house where my parents also reside. However, the tenancy agreement that I will be submitting will only have my name on it. I am unsure whether to include details of the other residents in the property or not. The reason for my hesitation is that if the home office requests to see my parents' tenancy agreement, it will have my brother's name on it as well. Should I mention the "Other residents at this property" details or not?
