Applying for BN(O) visa inside the UK without a current visa

Hi, my application for ILR was refused earlier, and the previous visa expired during that time.

I wonder if I could apply for the BN(O) visa inside the UK, or if I would have to leave the country before applying for it.

Your ILR was refused months ago. What exactly have you been doing in the uk without any status?

I appealed for that, and unsurprisingly, it got refused, and I received the appeal letter a few days ago.

What does it say? Usually you are given 14 days to make an application etc.
