Fiancee Visa - please put our mind at rest!

Post by potsy1966 » Mon Dec 01, 2008 8:58 am

Hi there,

I wonder if someone could help and put our minds at rest. We are on tomorrow day 14 of the BHC having received our documnents. Would we have likely to have heard by now if it was going to be refused - is no news good news? Also does anyone know how long it takes at the mo? We have met three times and known each other 3 months and spoken on the phone every day. I am 41 and she 38

I enclosed the following:

10 pics of us together
6 months wageslips from me (I earn in excess of £40k pa)
6 months bank statements from me and 1 month from her (she has CAN 19k)
Birth certificate from me and photocopy from her
Divorce certificate from me (she lost hers and we couriered a certified copy over last Fri) but we did include divorve number in application
Letter from my Mother and best man
Phone bills
My flight tickets from 2 visits to see her in Mexico and one in Canada.
Telephone bills - hundreds of calls!
Card sent to her
couple of emails
MSN call log
My rental agreement and letter from agent saying ok for another person to stay
My tax certificate
2 untility bills
Detailed letter from each of us
Quote for evening reception and registry office quote
Her passport and my certified copy

Based on all this and the divorce certificate for her coming later and only one months bank statement from her as she had been in Mexico on extended holiday does anyone know if this should go through and when we are likely to hear?

Thanks loads in advance

In your list of supporting evidence I cannot spot anything about the size of the property in which your fiancée will live. Is that right? There was nothing about the size of the place, or proof that it will not be overcrowded, as defined?

Thanks for reply. I stated in my letter what rooms it had and the type of property aswell as a letter from agent stating suitable for two people.

That is good. I was just a little concerned that you had not proved that the place was "suitable" and certainly not overcrowded.

As regards the delay, hopefully you will hear soon. There is no reason to think that the delay will be followed by bad news. They could just be very busy.

Thanks very much. My concerns were:
1/ only sent a copy of her birth cert
2/ only 1 month bank statement from her as she had been travelling. It shows can19k and 10k saving bond tho 6 from me
3/ because she had lost her divorce cert we sent over the number as the Toronto office had a huge delay. She couriered and faxed a certified copy last fri

You read so many stories about refusals for silly things
