English Language requirement - Please help!!

Post by eclairs » Thu Mar 02, 2023 12:38 am

My sincere apologies if this is a silly question.

I am applying for naturalisation along with my wife and wondering if we still need to provide evidence for the english language requirement.

We both got our ILRs in August 2015 (through Tier1 General route) so, as per the "English Language Requirement FAQs" post above, we both are exempt (according to point #1 of Q2). However, two of my friends who recently went through this process says otherwise.

Can one of the senior members please spare a few seconds to reply? Thank you!!

"If you successfully made an application for indefinite leave to remain on the basis of a B1 level qualification, you would meet the English language requirement for naturalisation and do not have to pass another test."
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
