Spouse Visa and ILR

Post by EamonnM » Fri Mar 03, 2023 7:42 pm

I’m a UK national my wife is in the UK with me on the second visa of the 5 year route for LTR. I’ve been approached about an overseas posting that will last for a couple of years and I understand that there is no fixed requirement for time spent in the UK for a spouse visa. We will travel back and forth as time permits.

The UK will still be our permanent home but I just want to be clear about the spouse visa to ILR (which needs to be applied for from in country). If I take the posting, how will it impact the ILR process?

Does anybody have any experience of a similar situation or advice that can be offered?

Many thanks.
