UK Spouse visa after seperation

Post by ChadisRad » Sat Apr 15, 2023 9:29 am

Hello there, I am wondering if any readers have experience of the process of a UK Spouse visa after seperation. My wife moved out of the family home in December 2022 to live by herself. She is currently here on a UK Spouse visa that was renewed in June 2021 and expires in September of this year. I have only just in the past week written to the Home Office informing them that we are separated with no prospect of getting back together. I am pretty sure that my wife would not have informed them even though that is a requirement of her visa. She was given a formal police caution in December 2022 for domestic violence against myself. My question is whether anyone has any knowledge or experience of firstly when the spouse visa holder is likely to hear from the Home Office regarding the status of her visa and also what the likelihood may be of her being able to successfully apply for a new visa considering her police caution.
Many thanks for reading and I will greatly appreciate any responses provided.

It can take a couple of months and UKVI will communicate with her directly, if they do and you will not be kept updated at all.
and also what the likelihood may be of her being able to successfully apply for a new visa considering her police caution.
It depends what visa she qualifies for and intends to apply for.
