Validity of visa during notice period

Post by Sheroy1995 » Fri Apr 28, 2023 5:54 pm

Hi
I am currently working on a tier-2 visa and have received a job offer from another employer willing to sponsor. However I have got some overseas holidays booked in the period of my 3 months notice. If i give my resignation notice to my current employer, will I be able to travel in and out of the UK without any issues within this notice period as long as my last day with the current employer is after that period? I am worried that the employer potentially notifies the home office when an employee files their resignation rather than when nearing their last day and this might cause issues for me when trying to re-enter the country during my notice period with the current employer?

Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer to this concern.

The employer only informs ukvi within 10 days after your last date of employment, not while you are serving your notice.

It is ukvi that curtails or cancels your visa, not rhe employer. They only notify ukvi that you are no longer employed as part of their sponsor duties.
