Family Visa Extension (2nd Time)

Post by kdNew2023 » Sun Apr 23, 2023 9:43 pm

Hi,

I got my British citizenship last year. (10 Year route)
My family (wife and son) is currently on family route visa. (issued in Dec 2020 and expires in June 2023)
They have been in UK continuously from June 2014.

1. Is there any other option apart from Family visa extension they can apply Like directly for ILR etc ? Please confirm.

2. If NO, Can I Apply apply for their Family visa extension earlier than 28 days from expiry ? Do i Need to provide any kind of covering letter ? Also they will issue New family visa only from date of application + 28 days and not from the current visa expiry date if I apply earlier. Please confirm.

3. Also my wife has given A1 English test (Life skills) - Listening and speaking earlier, now she needs B1 English test which can also be used later in ILR. There are various B1 tests, so I guess B1 English Test (Life skills) - Listening and speaking should be fine for both Family visa extension and ILR ? Please confirm.

Thanks And Regards,
kd

They have been in UK continuously from June 2014. You have to wait till June 2024./

1. Is there any other option apart from Family visa extension they can apply Like directly for ILR etc ? Please confirm. Nope. Extension should be FLR M

2. If NO, Can I Apply apply for their Family visa extension earlier than 28 days from expiry ? Do i Need to provide any kind of covering letter ? Also they will issue New family visa only from date of application + 28 days and not from the current visa expiry date if I apply earlier. Please confirm. You can apply anytime. They get 30 months and you only need 13/14 months to get them to June 2024.

Yeah, B1 is the way to go. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Thanks And Regards,
kd

Yeah, show your income to support their application. Get a letter from your HR also detailing said income and confirming status of employment.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
