Even if she was eligible, she would still have to live for 5 years to apply for citizenship.
She needs ILR, has to apply for citizenship after a year on ILR (unless you get naturalized before that, then she can apply as spouse of BC).
Weird you think she can apply for citizenship straightaway, when even you currently on ILR can't.Antone wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 2:25 pmDear experts,
I have recently got my ILR and managed to apply for citizenship for my daughters (born in the UK) so now they both have British passports but my wife is still a year short for ILR (she is tier 2 dependent and currently spent 4 years in UK).
I was wondering if she can apply for citizenship right away ? or do we have to go through ILR then citizenship.
Many thanks,
Antone.
She needs ILR first. There is no shortcut and makes no difference simply because the kids are British.
Having British children doesn't give you any privileges under UK immigration/nationality regulations.
