For 2 - not necessarily; if you've gone through EUSS, proof of English Language isn't mandatory.sobanoodle wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 4:50 pmHello Everyone,
I am filling my online British Citizenship Application at the moment and there are few questions I need help with/clarify
1. Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?-I answered yes (Indefinite Leave to remain, under EU Settlement Scheme). This questions is followed by:
Were your fingerprints taken as part of this application? - I cannot remember if I was submitting my fingerprints with the ILR applicationWhat should I do in this case?/where can I find this information?
2.Have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application? - I cannot remember if was submitting this either, but since I was granted ILR I am guessing I have?
I am grateful for any advice!

I am grateful for any advice! Welcome ... but it wasn't that long ago you applied for EU Settled Status ...
Thanks for the advices guys!alterhase58 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 5:22 pmmeself2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 5:04 pmFor 2 - not necessarily; if you've gone through EUSS, proof of English Language isn't mandatory.sobanoodle wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 4:50 pmHello Everyone,

My bad, just making sure. Thanks for the help!alterhase58 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 6:24 pmClearly the answer is NO as it wasn’t required. Is there a misunderstanding? @SOBANOODLE
sobanoodle wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 9:45 pmHello everyone,
I have a few questions regarding online application for British Citizenship and would appreciate advice/input![]()
1. When filling the form, do I write my name and other details that are in my native language-Czech, with diacritics (how they are written in my official documents from my country)? Since I moved to UK I always wrote my name and details without diacritics, my UK driving license, UK uni degree and ILR is written without it and there was never a problem. But I am unsure in this case.
Write it as per your Czech passport.
2. In 2018 I was fined by a council person for cigarette butt littering, and in 2018 I was fined for parking on yellow line. Both fines were paid on the day I received them. Do I declare this in the section “Convictions and other penalties” or leave it as it is not on record?
Don’t think it’s an issue after five years.
3. When it comes to my 5 years living in the UK evidence, this is what I have gathered. I couldn’t obtain any further evidence that is to the Home Office prefference, and plan to explain that in the cover letter and also attach my bank statements as they show physical transactions made in the UK through out the whole period. But do you think this evidence itself is enough?
2018
- DVLA letter from november
- university results from June
- P60 from April
2019
- DVLA letter from October
- Student finance letter from December
2020
- council tax letter from November
- Student finance letter from February
2021
- NHS letter from May
- Council tax letter from March
2022
- NHS letter from january
- Council tax letter from march
2023
- council tax letter from March
Bank statements not accepted for this application. Council tax letters should be sufficient plus the other document where you don’t have council tax. Note the application requires a minimum of documents.
Lastly, I am aware cover letters vary from cases, but is there any standard format such as heading I should follow?Cover letter is not a requirement therefore there’s no recommended format. Caseworkers know what they’re looking at.
Many thanks for any help and hope everyone had a great weekend <3
What is your residency status?Plob500 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 11:36 amI am working on my naturalisation application on the 3 year spouse of British citizen route. I would like advice on proof of residency. I am 76 years old and don't have any work or education records and the council tax bills are in my husbands name. I do have electricity bills in my name and NHS appointments including the 5 Covid vaccinations record from the NHS App. Could I use these as proof of residency? Thanks.
You only need your passport(s), nothing else. Do not send unnecessary documents.Plob500 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 1:15 pmThanks. I am applying on the UK Immigration, not EU. I will include the 3 years Council tax bills and the NHS letters, my passport with entry and leaving stamps, electricity bills and Covid vaccination history. Is there a minimum or maximum amount of documents to supply for proof of residency.
Thanks for your advice.
Yes, that would a be a relative and not suitable. A relative is someone relating to you through blood or marriage.
My question is, could I present the Home Office e-mail as evidence and apply on 11.06.2023 or would I need to wait until 20.06.2023? I was planning to travel for a couple of weeks and this would require me to rearrange my plans if I have to apply at the later date. Any help or advice would be welcome and thank you in advance. When applying, you can provide us with one of the following to show you are free
from immigration time restrictions:
• Your biometric residence permit or any other documents confirming your right to
remain permanently in the UK
• The Home Office letter by which you were given permission to remain permanently
in the UK
Yes.vyxntz wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 11:58 pmHi everyone,
I will be applying for British Citizenship through AN route (ILR without being married to a British spouse) very soon. I received an e-mail from Home Office Atlas on 11.06.2022 confirming my indefinite leave to remain application was successful, however for some reason the date of issue on my BRP is on 20.06.2022.
I was checking the guidance for AN Naturalisation applications and came across this paragraph (for context, I received my ILR through 5 years of residency from Turkish Businessperson Visa route):

Apologies for asking the same question twice, but does the statement above mean that I received my ILR beginning from the date of the e-mail or the date when BRP was issued?Your application for indefinite leave to remain in the UK has been successful.
What happens next
You will receive your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) by courier within 7 working days. It is your BRP, not this letter, that is the official document that grants you status.
ILR start date is per the date of the letter/email.vyxntz wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 9:47 amThank you so much for the swift response. I forgot to include it in my first post, but the e-mail I received had this section in it which gave me confusion:Apologies for asking the same question twice, but does the statement above mean that I received my ILR beginning from the date of the e-mail or the date when BRP was issued?Your application for indefinite leave to remain in the UK has been successful.

If you apply through a solicitor email goes to them as your representative. Have you submitted yet? Generally no need to go through a solicitor - your choice of course.
