4 MONTHS AND STILL WAITING FOR NATURALISATION

Post by Nina54 » Thu Aug 17, 2023 12:39 pm

Hi fellow forum members, I am still trying to find my place around this forum so pls forgive me if I am posting incorrectly or the subject is repetitive.
My wife arrived in UK from Italy in 1966 as a child and was given at the time an indefinite permession to stay. Then there was the UK entering the EU and she married me in 1980 (Italian but now with a BC/ship ) and changed her name on every single document to the married suname. So that when it came to submit the application for her naturalisation, she could not provide docs - for the past 3 years - that match her unmarried surname on her current italian passport. I explained this on the online application, and I enclosed documents that show her transition from an unmarried person with the spinster's name to a married person now using the married name. The NI number being the same on 1970s docs as it is in the 2020s should support her id.
However...I have not heard a single word from the HO after submitting the docs in April2023. Could this issue preclude or delay indefinitely her application perhaps ?
Someone said in the forum that there is an email address that can be used to request updates from the HO. Can someone be so kind as to quote that address and/or direct email me with it ?
Thank you in anticipation

You would get no response from them until 6 months has passed. All you can do is wait. There's a service time of 6 months.

You would get no response even a day short of that 6 months.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
