Dependent visa passport expiry year

Hi,

I am getting married this November 2023 and my husband will be moving in with me as Tier 2 dependent. However I have a doubt as his passport will be expiring in Jan 2025 and my passport will be expiring in Oct 2025. We both hold Indian passports. In India the passport will be renewed if its being expired in an year. I will be applying my husbands dependent visa in November 2023. If we apply as dependent will the validity be 2 or 3 years? And does this cause issue with passport expiry. I will be eligible for ILR in May 2024

Please suggest me what is the best solution and let me know if any more details are required.

The 2025 expiry date of your and your husband's passport is not an issue for his 2023 SW dependent application or your 2024 ILR application.

If your husband's dependent visa application is successful his visa will be valid to the same date as your current SW visa.

Once you have ILR and before expiry of his visa your husband can apply for a mandatory 3 year extension.
