Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate your kind advice on some of the questions I have when preparing my Tier 2 to Indefinite Leave to Remain application.
1. It is required, as per the Gov.uk website, that I 'continue to be needed for your job and meet the salary requirements after you get indefinite leave to remain - you’ll need a document from your employer (sponsor) to confirm this'.
I am not sure when is the best time that I should get this document? Will it be better to have it within one month before my application submission date? or three months? Like is there a suggested period for such a document to remain valid? I could not find any specific requirements for this and my HR team is quite ambivalent about their 'processing time' (ranging from one week to one month...)so any advice would help me to plan ahead.
2. My BRP card issue date (as printed on the card) was on 20 Nov 2018 so the earliest date I can apply would be on 22 Oct 2023. Hope I have got it right?
3. I've seen some other queries online that there is an 'item' on the application form that requires info on a 'valid national identity card'. My national ID card (issued in China) has unfortunately expired. Will this card need to be scanned and uploaded as part of the material? I do have a valid passport. Can I fill in this item on the form using my passport information instead? It is just that I cannot get the ID card renewed here in the UK.
Many thanks in advance for your expert opinions, which will be much appreciated.
