Canadian re-entering UK after Skilled Worker Visa Expires

If a Canadian citizen has been working in the UK with a Skilled Worker Visa, it expires and they left the country. Can they re-enter and stay as a visitor (Canadian 180-day entry without visa) soon after?

You can enter the UK as a visitor - but visa free nationals are still bound by visitor visa rules, most important cannot work and must not use the visitor visa system to reside in the UK.

If you get diverted from the E-gate to talk to a Border Force Officer they will be interested in your return and the reasons why. If you are proposing to stay for an extended period then that will be questioned.
