Please I need urgent help and advice from members of this forum.
I moved to the UK on study visa with my wife and 2 kids age 12 and 10. Wife later got Certificate of Sponsorship visa and made me her dependant. The issue is my wife has refused to pay any bill leaving me to pay my school fees, house rent, energy bills, water bills and providing for the family and recently, council tax, despite the fact that I was the one schooling (now recently graduated) and she works full time. She intentionally provokes me and records moment we have quarrels. She also constantly threatens to call the police on me. It is obvious she has something up her sleeves. We are actually more of flat-mates than a couple.
How do I get my wife to contribute to paying the bills. Our house rent is about to expire in two months’ time but she does not seem to care probably because her name is not on the rent agreement. Someone advised me to leave my family and go rent a room somewhere to prevent things from going out of hand. Is this advisable on a legal perspective and what will be my fate if my wife decide to report me to home office that I abandon my family?
My landlady is insisting that our rent will not be renewed as she intends to sell the property. She is threatening to take legal actions if my family remains in the property after the rent expiry date. I honestly can not single-handedly rent a flat for my family as I do not meet the the requirements as demanded by prospective landlords/letting agencies. My payslips is not buoyant enough haven being a student and also having a bad credit score due to pressure of paying bills all alone. I have explained this to my wife but she remains nonchalant. Even if I manage to get an an apartment, I don't think I will be able to continue bearing the financial burdens all alone. Should I move out of the house and a rent room for myself in another location?
