New Born

Post by immee » Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:28 pm

Hi All,

Asking for a family friend..

Main applicant is on a skilled worker visa, whilst his Mrs is on a dependent visa.. they recently had a child born in the UK and Mrs now wants to travel abroad to attend a family wedding along with a baby.. their question is can the baby travel back to the UK on mom’s visa or would they have to sort out baby’s visa before she travels back to the UK ?

The reason for their question is that they heard  from someone that babies under a year old can travel back to the UK on Mom’s visa ? My answer was i never heard this before but i will check this in the forum..

They have to sort out baby’s visa before she travels back to the UK. Ideally they should apply for the visa before leaving the UK. Applying from abroad can take months.

May be possible in other countries, but not the UK. For the UK, each person entering needs their own entry clearance (if non-British) or British passport.
