Tier 2 or ILR

Post by benjnr » Fri Sep 01, 2023 6:05 pm

Hi There,
I have completed 5 years in the UK ina tier 2 skilled worker visa. My current visa ends in 2 weeks and I have a new CoS from another employer. Do I need to apply for tier 2 visa first and then ILR or can I apply for an ILR directly?

Have you resigned from your current sponsor?

For ILR, you require a letter from your sponsor stating you are required in your role for the foreseeable future.

You cannot apply for ILR.

You will need to apply for a new Skilled Worker visa with the new sponsor and wait at least a month (you need a fully months payslip and bank statement) before you can apply for ILR.

You also need the new visa approved before you can work for the new sponsor.

Hi CR001 again,

I have applied for my ILR with a new paylip, the sponsor letter and bak statement.

I have to show some evidence of absences from the UK( which are vacations of less than 2 weeks) to India etc. They don't exceed 50 days roughly.

I have mentioned the evidence I'm providing is the stamped pages on my passport. Would this be enough.

I have applied for the priority service( it's become evn more expensive than I remember)

Any further advise would be very much appreciated.
