Duration Options for Skilled Worker's Dependent Visa Application

Hello,

I'm currently in the process of applying for a Skilled Worker's Dependent Visa and I'm wondering if it's possible to apply for a shorter duration than the primary applicant. My wife has a 5-year skilled worker visa, but I'm considering applying for a 3-year visa since I'll be eligible for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) after 3 years. Opting for a shorter duration would also reduce the overall cost.

It would be great if someone could through some light on this issue and whether it is possible to apply for less duration that that of main applicant.

No, you cant. You have to apply for what your wifes visa duration is. The rules state a pbs dependent gets the same visa le gth as the main pbs visa holder.

You possibly qualifying for ilr sooner, presumably 10 year route, is irrelevant.
