New COS issuance for skilled worker visa extension

Please advise me on the following points.

1. I have a skilled worker visa expiring in January 2024 after completing one and a half year.

2. My family visa is expiring after completing one year along with me in January.

3. I want to apply for extension for 4 years. Can COS be issued for 4 years? If it is possible, then next question is that the visa date starts from the approval of the application or will it be according to the dates on COS.

4. Can I get a visa for extra 15 days after the expiry of my COS in case of extension as well.

5. If I can get extra 15 days visa after COS expiry, then my family' s 5 years will be completed. To apply for ILR. If it does not happen, the I have to apply for 4.5 years extension. Again my question is , can COS be issued for 4.5 years?

6. So that we can apply for a 4.5 year visa.

I will be very thankful if you respond to my questions. I will be then able to request for appropriate COS from my employer.

CoS are in 2 categories to my understanding 3years or more than 3years. Not sure how you got initial one way less than 3years?

A cos can be assigned for any duration. What you have referenced is relevant to the visa fee only.

Thank you so much for your clarification about COS issuance. Can you please clarify about the extended visa duration. Will it be granted 15 days more than the COS end date.
