ukdoc2024 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 10:58 amHi Everyone,
Sorry my post , Hopfully I have posted in the corerct category.
My daugher (20 years old ) is a British Citizen (we came to UK in 2009 and got our British Passports in 2016
She is studying Medicine in Romania.
We are planning to get her married (Nikah in 2024) . I have read the requiremems that she need to have a job for atleast £18,600 and will need 6 months salary slips too.
My queries:
1) She is a student, what financial evidence can be shown to meet the financial conditions as she is not doing any job, she has savings of around £20k in her bank account. The savings amount does not meet the requirements. If not employed and not earning £18,600 she is not able to meet the spouse visa requirements. Between these two points there is no grey area.
2) Can we use the option of cash savings ( it will be parents savings ) that we will transfered in her account. No
3) We plan to do Nikah in Mid 2024 in Pakistan , and she will be back in UK and then twill continue her studies in the EU country. Will it make any problem when she applies for her spouse visa as there will be gap of approx 1 to 2 years in (Rukhsati) in the mena time she will be visiting Pakistan ocasionally. There will be a good number of questions in the caseworkers mind, is the marriage subsisting, was it a forced marriage, why was there a marriage in the first place given the circumstances of study and age. It will not be a straight forward application. And that assumes the financial criteria are met in the first place.
Any other sugegstions from seniors or any one who has gone through the similar situation will be appreciated.
Thanks for your reply.Frontier Mole wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 11:19 amukdoc2024 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 10:58 amHi Everyone,

Spouse visa is given for the purpose of reuniting the family, so spouses can live together in the UK. How will your daughter achieve that while she's studying in Romania?
During the holidays, term breaks in her UNi in EU, daughter is in UK.meself2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 11:46 amSpouse visa is given for the purpose of reuniting the family, so spouses can live together in the UK. How will your daughter achieve that while she's studying in Romania?
They might be better off living together in Romania? Does daughter even want to return back?
Yes that can be option.meself2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 11:46 amSpouse visa is given for the purpose of reuniting the family, so spouses can live together in the UK. How will your daughter achieve that while she's studying in Romania?

There's no magic route that allows this - if they want to return back, they have to apply for spouse visa anyway, for which either savings or a job in UK is needed.ukdoc2024 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 12:36 pmYes that can be option.meself2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 11:46 amSpouse visa is given for the purpose of reuniting the family, so spouses can live together in the UK.
