Yesh, unfortunately, it seems to be the slowest thing ever. I don't get why they can't just do away with the ceremony or do an online ceremony > Followed by a digital cert (that gets posted to you later too.)>
And you can then use the digital cert to apply for a passport online.
But that would make too much sense...
I understand they are working towards lodging the cert directly with GRO - like an Irish birth certificate is. And then the passport office accesses thé cert details direct from the GRO, like they do now with Irish born passport applications needing birth certificates. If you want the physical cert yourself you’d order from GRO like a birth cert. But I’m not holding my breath- I can’t imagine it will happen inside 18 months if not longer.
Unfortunately, there are way fewer folks that are naturalized compared to being born, so I wouldn't expect it to be a priority. That's why Irish birth certs are integrated while naturalization ones still haven't (and they can't even verify the copies at Passport Office now so you must send the original).
It’s not a priority - that’s why it hasn’t happened yet and is still a good piece away
but even the runt goes to market when there is no others left.
(And immigration not being able to verify copies, thus forcing passports to accept originals pushes the agenda, is bringing pressure from passports to get it done, not slow it down.)

Based on other timeline the approval can be 1-2 months from this point.
My evetting disclosure was viewed in August and another user has been waiting since July but no decision has been made on our applications yet. I hope yous get it early but I have seen posts in this topic where people have been waiting for over 4 months to get an update.

I assume it very much depends on your specific application and where you are in the process when the evetting has completed. Many of the backlog applications, mine included, have had their evetting completed towards the very end, whereas they have now brought the evetting in more towards the beginning starting with 2023 applications.

Thanks. Judging by the thread above, there seems to be a long wait to make a decision after this. Can any one share their timeline after the Disclosure is viewed- just to get the rough idea about how long will this take moving forward..

Based on many of the posts in the timeline sections it’s at least a month or two, but could be even longer. Just like everything in this entire process we have no idea where we stand and are expected to be patient.
I started my evetting a day before yours and both have completed on the same day (24th), yet my disclosure hasn’t been viewed yet. I give up trying to understand anything to do with this process.

For those who got e-vetting approval. I got today my approval letter and there is a sentence that states:
"If you wish to be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Citizenship Ceremonies due to be held on 18th/19th December 2023 in the convention Centre, Dublin, it is essential that you complete the steps below (fees payment) within 10 days from the date of this letter"
Fingers crossed to those that you got e-veting approved and you haven't heard anything in months. You might get approved and invited to December's ceremony
When did your Everting status change to Disclosure viewed? I want to calculate how long after that can someone get the approval letter

I've applied back in Aug 2022 but i havent received the evetting invite that pretty much everybody have received on May 22. I sent them an email in early September asking them why and confirm my email address. They responded directly with the evetting invite. Since then i received another evetting invite. I completed both but only the last one got processed and 2 days ago the status changed to Disclosure viewed. I cant help but wonder what if i hadnt emailed them at all . Maybe it was a mistake that i was left out from mass evetting invite email in May ?

You can check the timeline posts. Mine took 2 months between disclosure and decision. Reviewing other people’s timelines, it’s between 1.5 to 2.5 months for majority of applicants. A few though complained it’s taking more than 4 months for them

Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. I recently had my evetting disclosure viewed on November 27th 2023 as part of the Irish citizenship process. With the upcoming ceremony scheduled for December 18th/19th 2023, I’m curious if anyone has insights on whether there’s a high probability of receiving the approval letter before the ceremony?
Additionally, I’m currently away from Ireland due to remote work. Can anyone share their experience regarding how the approval letter is typically sent – whether by post or email?
Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We don't know what's inside ISD - can't give you the chances.
Approval usually comes via post, but I don't know if they'll be likely to send you an approval if you're abroad (assuming you're there for over 6 weeks and you notified ISD, as you should've).
UPD: fixed approval delivery method

Approval letter comes by post not email (in a brown envelope stamped “citizenship”. )
I got approved on 23 Nov and the letter suggested that if I want to be considered for Dec ceremony I should pay by 30th of Nov (10 days from the date of the letter which was dated 20 Nov). Based on this remark, I’m assuming the cutoff point for invitation in Dec is payment before or on the 30th of Nov. I hope this helps and wish you best of luck.

I also received a letter by post in a brown envelope . Just confused on the wording. "I refer to your application for a certificate of naturalisation. The minister proposes to grant your application, subject to successful completion of the application process. If your application for a certificate of Naturalisation is to be granted, the nest correspondence you will receive from this office will be an invitation to attend a citizenship ceremony."
Do this mean that I can pay my application fee now and wait for the correspondence? Also in another page it is mentioned that we may need to return the original travel document. Do we have to return our original Passport?

No - this is for refugees/others who hold a travel document issued by Ireland.

You won’t get any more correspondence until you pay. The next email (though ‘next’ could still mean 6 months away) is invitation to ceremony. You simply won’t be invited if you don’t pay.

No, the post letter is all you need to pay the fee.
After you've paid, you'll get 3 more emails, which would be days or months apart: a) acknowledgement (that the payment happened, Should be right after you've paid or in a few hours), b) processing (that they've processed the money) and c) invitation.
