Changes to Skilled Work Visa route

Post by AmazonianX » Mon Dec 04, 2023 5:35 pm

-Income threshold to be increased to £38,700
-Shortage occupation list allowing lower income earners to migrate to UK to be pruned
-Health and Care route financial requirements to be kept however workers from abroad will not be able to come to UK with dependants

This is still unfolding

Is there any news whether this applies to people on existing routes (but up for extension after spring)? Thanks

No and we don't know any more than what anyone else knows as reported in the media today. There are multiple processes/steps that have to take place before the rules are changed. Until then, we all simply have to wait to see what the new rules might say.

Thank you! Hope they provide more clarity soon

Planned changes to immigration rules

Post by razergd1 » Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:11 pm

Currently it's just a government announcement

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/home ... -migration

The main message is a planned increase to SW threshold salary, a ban on care workers dependents and an increase on minimum income to sponsor family members.

I believe that the ihs increase was known before.

Please check that things like this haven't already been posted in the Skilled Worker sub forum, before posting in the General Immigration sub forum!
