Absences from UK citizenship form

Post by Amnabawa1 » Mon Dec 11, 2023 11:35 pm

Hi guys. I was filling in the form and under the 6(2) where I am only allowed 270 days in 3 years outside UK, I have exceeded it by 12 days and it’s 282 days. In the form it asks are there any reasons you can not meet the requirement for example you have had too many absences from UK. Should I select Yes or No?
It also states the rules of staying out like 270 days in 3 years and 450 days in 5 years and then says if I meet the residence requirements ie I was not away for more than 270 days. What should I select yes or no?

Have you reviewed the absence guidance?

Up to 300 days are normally disregarded. This normally means if you comply with all other requirements. Suggest you write a covering note and explain why you are slightly over.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

As already suggested expand on your cover note that you comply with all other requirement (you must check you meet them on the official guidance), make sure that you do not exceed the absence reuqirement of 90 days in he last 12 months leading up to the application.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
