Travel outside UK after decision

Post by merc90 » Wed Dec 13, 2023 3:55 pm

Dear forum members,

I am asking on behalf of a friend who got ILR approval today, many thanks to the help from forum members.
He is thinking of travelling back to his home country. Given that he received his approval today he might receive his brp in 7-10 days. But he wishes to travel earlier. Can he travel on his last BRP pre-ILR appoval which is still valid till end of next year?

Thanks

To leave the UK, he does not need a BRP. The old BRP and the previous immigration status are now invalid, so he needs his new ILR BRP to travel back to the UK. Unexpired BRP card does NOT necessarily mean you have a valid immigration status :!:
