I am the sponsor of my wife (applicant). I am self-employed and will meet the income requirements through Category F - last full financial year.
I am required to produce 'unaudited accounts' and an 'accountants letter of confirmation'. However, I do not usually use an accountant so I need to get someone to look at my tax returns and confirm. It is this that I have the following questions about:
1. What do unaudited accounts look like? I keep my own detailed records on a spreadsheet, can I submit this along with the accountants letter? or do the unaudited accounts have to be produced by an accountant?
2. I am self-employed overseas and will be continuing my self employment in the UK. As a result I am finding it almost impossible to find an accountant here that is a member of a UK Recognised Supervisory Body. Is it better to use a qualified accountant in the country where I worked or try to find someone in the UK to look over things?
It would be great if any of the members of this forum could help me with these questions, I wonder if anyone can provide me with some info about what their 'unaudited accounts' looked like and if they prepared themselves or they were done by an accountant?
I understand that my application is about as difficult as it can be haha, so thank you for taking the time to read my post
