ILR Approved via travelling Abroad/OLD BRP Invalid

Post by raheelmalhi1983 » Fri Dec 15, 2023 8:18 pm

Hi

I travelled outside UK whilst ILR pending Application. Now my Application is Approved and my brother posted my BRP which I received .

But i heard i could not travel while my application was pending.

So My question is what type of issue i could face at Immigrations . My Old Visa was still valid till 25th of December.

Technically you abandoned your application by leaving the U.K. during the application process. What is likely to happen on return the U.K., probably nothing.

If the Border Force Officer is observant and looks at your entry and exit stamps and matches your BRP issue date then that might lead to some questions. If the BFO decides to take action then this could technically lead to the cancellation of your visa and a return flight home. Does this happen, yes, does it always get noticed or actioned, no.

It also all depends on your immigration and travel history and what appears on the screen when your records come up. If it is very obvious when you left and it was several months before your grant of ILR that will not serve you well.
