It seems like BNO route applications take longer than usual as I can see here(approx. 6 months) whereas the processing time is usually around 2.5 months for other routes. Not entirely sure if that's the case as so far not too many people have been eligible to apply through this route yet so I might be wrong. I did write to HO few days ago about this and this morning I got the approval email.
