Cancelling Skilled Worker Visa during visa switch

Hi Everyone
I am currently on a skilled worker visa that is valid up to 2027
I am considering to switch visa to Innovator Founder.
My questions are

1. If the new visa (Innovator Founder) got rejected, will my current Visa (Skilled Worker) will still be valid?

2. Does the HO cancels the current Visa upon submitting a new Visa application, or it waits until decision?

There is a possibility by the time I apply to the Innovator Visa that I will be made redundant at work, meaning I will be waiting for my curtailment letter and I know that in some cases these letters get delayed for a number of months, which is good in my case until I find a new sponsorship or innovator application get approved.

My question is ... in case of I get rejection to Innovator Visa, will that draws HO attention to my current visa (skilled worker but not sponsored anymore) and make them look into my visa status / case and accelerate sending the curtailment letter.

This is way up there in the sky, conjectures. No one on here holds brief for HO or know the inner workings. On the other hand, loads of people are reportedly waiting for curtailment.
