Guidance on spouse visa from pakistan

Post by happydays9999 » Thu Feb 01, 2024 1:55 am

Hi All,

I am british citizen and dont know much how to sponsor my spouse from pakistan this is first time i am posting here so please ignore if i have started a thread and it has been answered before.

I am going to get married in pakistan on 25th feb and want to apply in time before the new rules kick in.

First question, what do i need from nikkah ceremony, if molvee gives nikah nama is it going to be sufficient to file the application or do i need a registrar and get nadra certficiate (that can take some time if anyone knows how long please guide).

Second question, can i register nikah in islamabad even though ceremony takes place in different city will i get any benefit in registering in islamabad ?

Thanks

Usually molvi himself takes nikahnama in the local union council for registration and charge you minimal price for it. You can do it yourself too. We were issued Nadra certificate by union council in 3 working days. Make sure all name spellings etc is correct as union council takes longer to amend it than issuing it at first place.
Nikah is mostly registered in the same area union council where it happened. I am saying this because my brother has to go to his in law's town to get their marriage certificate even though his in laws were moved to a different place after few months of his marriage.
